Phil grew up in Lee Co., Ky. and spent his entire adult life in Central Kentucky. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Kentucky and then spent 30 years in office equipment sales before resigning to answer God’s call into ministry. He returned to college and earned a Master’s degree in Christian Leadership from Asbury Theological Seminary and is currently pursuing a second Master’s in Biblical Studies.
Phil’s wife Brenda is a strong supporter, sharing in many aspects of his ministry, in addition to being an active leader in the Women’s Ministry at JCC. She is a first grade teacher at Nicholasville Elementary School. Phil and Brenda have been blessed with 5 adult children (2 daughters and 3 sons) plus 5 grandsons under age 6.
Phil’s ministry focuses on areas where people are connected to the church and get personally involved in ministry. He organizes and administers Ministry Teams, L.I.F.E. Groups, and all Adult Bible Studies, including electives. He works a lot in areas of communication, acting as liaison between these ministries and the leadership. Phil heads up the Seniors Ministry (60 and older) which is growing rapidly while providing both fellowship and service opportunities to the senior members of our congregation. In addition, he assists with pastoral calling, teaches the Seekers Sunday School class, and leads the Wednesday evening prayer service and Bible study.
If you are looking for a way to get more involved in service to the Lord and to His church at JCC, Phil is the man to call.
